The Betts Family cemetery located in Maspeth, Queens, dates all the way back to 1713, when the patriarch of the family, Capt. Richard Betts dug his own grave just a few days before he died at the age of 100. Yes, he dug his own grave when he was 100 years old 🙂 The Betts homestead occupied this part of Long Island starting in 1656, originated by Capt. Richard Betts and his family. The last burial to take place at the Betts family cemetery was 1877. The Betts cemetery now lies within the confines of Mt. Zion Jewish cemetery, and Mt. Zion maintains the upkeep of the old Quaker cemetery on its grounds.

Find A Grave NYC – St John Cemetery

From time to time I like to volunteer for Find A Grave and locate long lost family members for people who are not able to visit NYC. The video makes for a great white noise ASMR video

From time to time I like to volunteer for Find A Grave and locate long lost family members for people who are not able to visit NYC. The video makes for a great white noise ASMR video to help you sleep. Just the sounds of someone walking and the animals in the cemetery. On this visit to plot 27 I was able to take photos for about 8 people looking for a family memento.

In Queens, New York it is said that there are more dead people than there are live ones. It is certainly true, the New York City county has many large cemeteries scattered throughout it. In our video today we take a 30 minute ASMR walk around section 1F of the Linden Hill Cemetery in NYC. The video is right below, and beneath the video are just some of the photos that I took on my visit.

The reason for my trip today was a volunteer mission for Find A Grave. I had a list of 14 requests where people had requested a volunteer to go to the cemetery and take photos of their loved ones graves. Out of the 14 requests I was able to fulfill 5 of them.

The cemetery has a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.
